Stephen Diggle

Founder, Vulpes investment management

Steve Diggle began his career in finance in 1986. He was one of two founders of Artradis Fund Management, launched in 2002 with US$4m and peaked at nearly US$4.9bn late in 2008. Artradis was multi-award winning and for some time the largest and most successful hedge fund in Asia making over US$2bn for investors between 2002 and 2009. Artradis reorganised in April 2011 as the largest funds were closed, returning cash in full to investors. Two remaining funds were taken over by Vulpes Investment Management, a new group 100% owned by Steve Diggle and his new team.

The group currently runs 6 funds including a long Asian volatility and arbitrage fund; an opportunistic stock picking fund on Russian and CIS securities with an infrastructure focus; an unconstrained fund investing in stocks, bonds and commodities globally with a long bias; a life-sciences fund; a fund investing primarily in residential German real-estate and soon to launch an agricultural land investment company.

Prior to hedge fund investment he spent 15 years working for a number of investment banks largely as a derivative trader. Stephen holds a Masters degree from the University of Oxford.
