Sung-Ho Hwang

President & CEO, Woori Investment & Securities

 

Sung-Ho Hwang is President and CEO of Woori Investment & Securities, the largest investment & securities company in Korea with comprehensive financial services businesses involving wealth management, trading, investment banking, and merchant banking.

 

 Over the past 20 years, Mr. Hwang has taken on numerous leadership roles within financial services industry.  Prior to joining Woori I&S in May 2009, Mr. Hwang served as Asia Deputy CEO of Asset Management at PCA Group, President & CEO of PCA Investment Trust Management (2004-2009), and CEO of CJ Investment & Trust (1999-2004).  He also managed Hanwha Bank Hungary as President (1996~1997) and Bank of Athens in Greece as Co-Managing Director (1993-1996). He developed his professional career as a banker at Citibank Korea for 15 years (1979-1992), including 3 years at Diners Club Korea as a managing director.

 

Mr. Hwang received the Korean Presidential Award in 2001 for his achievement in attracting foreign capital during the IMF crisis in 1997. His previous roles in public institutions include External Director of Korea Exchange(2009-2011), Deputy Chairman of Korean Asset Management Company Association(2005-2009) and that of Korean Financial Investment Company Association(2009).
