Alistair Lumsden 

Chief Investment Officer of ABS, CQS Management Limited

 

Alistair Lumsden is Chief Investment Officer of Asset Backed Securities at CQS. He is responsible for devising and executing ABS strategies within the global mandates of the firm’s ABS funds. He is a member of the CQS Executive Committee and has 19 years of experience investing in the ABS space. Prior to joining CQS in 2006, Alistair was responsible for running the Asset Management Desk within Rabobank’s Vehicle Management Group. He was a founding member of the management team responsible for the launch of Rabobank’s Tango structured investment vehicle, where he had primary responsibility for managing the USD 10 billion asset portfolio. Before this, Alistair spent 8 years at Abbey National Treasury Services where he was a Portfolio Manager with primary responsibility for developing the bank’s USD 15 billion HEL portfolio. During his time at Abbey National, Alistair was responsible for investing in a broad range of MBS and ABS securities including student loans, credit cards, auto securitizations, as well as being a key investor providing structural input into early Asian and Australian dollar residential mortgage securitizations. Alistair holds a BSc in Business and Management Studies (First Class Hons) from the University of Bradford.
