Co-Head of Economics, Commodities & Strategy Research, Goldman Sachs

 

Timothy is co-head of Economics, Commodities and Strategy (ECS) research in Asia and is the chief Asia Pacific regional equity strategist. He is responsible for views on Asia Ex-Japan regional equity markets and communicating these perspectives to the firm's institutional investor base. He and his team have been consistently rated among the top regional equity strategy groups. Timothy joined Goldman Sachs as a Managing Director in the Hong Kong office of Global Investment Research in 2002 and was named Partner in 2006. He began his career in Hong Kong with Jardine Fleming, where he was head of Asia Ex-Japan Regional Research and regional strategist from 1985 to 1993. He held the same role at Salomon Brothers in Hong Kong from 1993 to 1996 before moving to New York, where he was a partner at Omega Advisors, a global equity hedge fund. Timothy has an M.B.A. in Finance from New York University's Stern School of Business and a B.A. in Art History and Economics from New York University. He is a CFA charterholder.
