Global Head of Prime Brokerage Sales, BNP Paribas

 

Sam Hocking is Global Head of Prime Brokerage Sales at BNP Paribas. He is a member of the Americas Equities and Commodities Executive Committee and Global Executive Committee for Sales and Trading for Financing and Flow.

 

Prior to joining the bank, Sam was at Banc of America Securities’ Prime Brokerage Division where he was the Co-Head of Global Prime Brokerage Sales and a member of the Prime Brokerage Operating Committee.

 

Sam was previously employed as a Principal and member of the Management Board at LAMP Technologies, a hedge fund data base and back office company located in Dallas, Texas. His experience also includes serving as an Adjunct Professor and Head of International Projects at Webster University in Vienna, Austria for four years. Prior to that, he worked as a journalist with ABC affiliates, the BBC and other international broadcasters.

 

Sam holds an M.B.A. from the J. L. Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. He is a graduate of Rollins College with a B.A. in Economics and was a varsity four-year letterman in soccer. He also received an M.A. in International Communications from Webster University in Geneva, Switzerland. Sam is Chairman of the President’s Leadership Council for Rollins College. He also serves on the Board of Trustees of Grace Cathedral Episcopal Church in San Francisco. He is married and the father of three young boys.
