Select Sector SPDRs
Sector SPDRs are unique ETFs (Exchange Traded Funds) that divide the S&P 500 into nine sector index funds thereby allowing investors to customize their investments by picking and weighting individual sectors to meet specific investment goals. You can buy or sell Sector SPDR ETFs on NYSE Arca throughout the trading day, just like shares of stock. Together, the nine Sector SPDRs represent the S&P 500 as a whole. However, each SPDR can be bought individually, providing undiluted exposure to a particular sector.
Sector SPDRs are designed to be cost efficient investments and are managed with the objective of matching the price and yield performance of their underlying sector index. The annual expense ratio is 0.18%. Ordinary brokerage commissions apply when buying or selling shares of Sector SPDRs.
