Galton Capital Management (“Galton”) is a distinct investment team within Mariner Investment Group, LLC (“Mariner”) that is dedicated to investing in residential mortgage and consumer assets. Galton manages approximately $1.4 billion in assets across the liquidity spectrum including long-only separately managed accounts, hedge funds, and longer-lock private debt structures. Kevin Finnerty, Matt Whalen, and Paul Park established Galton in 2008 and have grown the team to 32 employees and 5 consultants. Collectively, the founders have an average of 30 years of experience in the areas of origination, capital markets, trading, and portfolio management of mortgage and consumer-related assets. Mariner is an SEC Registered Investment Advisor founded in 1992 with $8.4 billion in AUM (including Galton), which specializes in fixed income relative value strategies and private debt offerings.
