Howard Levkowitz

Managing Director, BlackRock; Chairman & CEO, BlackRock TCP Capital Corp. 

Howard Levkowitz, Managing Director, is a member of Blackrock's Global Credit Platform and Chairman and CEO of BlackRock-TCP Capital Corp.

Prior to joining BlackRock, Mr. Levkowitz co-founded Tennenbaum Capital Partners (TCP), where he was a Managing Member and Chairman of the Management Committee.  TCP with its more than $9 billion in committed capital was acquired by BlackRock in 2018.  Prior to co-founding TCP, Mr. Levkowitz was an attorney with Dewey Ballantine LLP, specializing in real estate and insolvencies. He has served as a Director of both public and private companies and has also served on a number of formal and informal creditor committees.

Mr. Levkowitz is actively involved in a number of philanthropic activities, particularly in educational initiatives, and serves as an executive board member for two private schools.

Born in Tucson, Arizona, Mr. Levkowitz earned a B.A. in History (Magna Cum Laude) from the University of Pennsylvania, a B.S. in Economics concentration in Finance (Magna Cum Laude) from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and a J.D. from the University of Southern California.
