Commander Erick Peterson

Upon graduation from CSU in 1992, Commander Peterson was accepted to Officer’s Candidate School (OCS) for various Naval Officer careers, refusing them all until he was accepted to OSC – Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL (BUD/S) training. He graduated in 1998 and was assigned to SEAL Team FIVE from 1999-2003, completing 3 deployments in 4 years to Asia and the Pacific. He then spent 1 year in Germany with the Naval Special Warfare Unit TWO.
He served as Task Unit Commander at SEAL Team TEN from 2006-2008, completing 2 deployments to Iraq. In 2010, he deployed to Afghanistan in support of Combined Forces Special Operations Command.
Upon completion of that tour, he was assigned to SEAL Team THREE as Executive Officer from 2011-2013, deploying with Team THREE as the Deputy Commander of the Crisis Response Element in the Persian Gulf area.
In 2013, he returned to Germany, reporting to Special Operations Command Europe, where he served as Current Operations Officer and after 18 months, as the NATO Response Force Special Operations Chief of Staff.
His decorations include the Bronze Star with Valor, the Meritorious Service Medal, the Defense Meritorious Service Medal and various other personal, unit and service decorations.
After completing 8 deployments, Commander Peterson requested, and received treatment, at the Intrepid Spirit Center in Camp Pendleton, CA from 09 July 2018 to 10 August 2018. While at Camp Pendleton, he was fortunate enough to stay at the Fisher House for all 4 weeks of treatment.
