Erik Schatzker hosts conversations with the biggest newsmakers in global finance, investing and policy-making as an editor-at-large with Bloomberg Television. One day you might see him talking to Ray Dalio of Bridgewater Associates. The next it could be Goldman Sachs CEO David Solomon or Argentine President Mauricio Macri.
As a reporter, editor, manager and news anchor, Schatzker has covered many of the most demanding topics in financial markets and the biggest stories on Wall Street. Most recently, he explored the Saudi crackdown on corruption through the eyes of billionaire Prince Alwaleed bin Talal and documented the rise and fall of Bitcoin.
Schatzker regularly moderates at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, the Milken Global Conference in Los Angeles and the Aspen Ideas Festival in Colorado. At Bloomberg, he also co-chairs the Bloomberg Invest conference series and writes for Bloomberg Businessweek and Bloomberg Markets.
Schatzker joined Bloomberg as a reporter in 1998, served as the Toronto bureau chief and ran financial-services coverage in New York before moving to Bloomberg Television in 2007. He began his career at the South Pacific Mail in Santiago, Chile.
Schatzker earned a bachelor's degree in history from the University of Toronto. He's based in New York City.
