Shigeki Sakaki

Shigeki is Chief Economist at Nomura Asset Management in Singapore and primarily responsible for researching global macro-economy and providing outlook for economies and financial markets.
Through detailed forecasting and careful analysis, he plays a crucial role in assisting Nomura Asset Management's other investment professionals in deciding where their "bets" will be placed for any given period. Shigeki came to Nomura Asset Management in 1996 after serving as a Senior Economist at Nomura Research Institute for 6 years. Overall, he has 30 years' experience as an economist. He received a B.A in Economics from Waseda University, Japan and a Master of Philosophy in Economics from the University of Oxford, UK.
